2009 Global Military Issues Symposium
"Russia, China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization"

The first annual Global Military Issues Symposium was sponsored by the Center for Slavic and East European Studies Center, the East Asian Studies Center, the Institute for Chinese Studies, and the Mershon Center for International Security Studies. The topic of the 2009 symposium was "Russia, China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" and included three detailed presentations by Joseph Castleton (CSEES), Xiaoyu Pu (Political Science) and Joshua Wu (Political Science). Colonel Peter Mansoor (Raymond E. Mason Chair in Military History) led the discussion and gave insightful commentary to the crowd of 25 students, faculty and members of the community.
