Dr. Serhii Plokhii gives lecture on the Ukrainian crisis

The 2016 Midwest Slavic Conference took place at The Ohio State University on Friday April 8th - Sunday, April 10th. The event began on Friday, with a keynote address given by Dr. Serhii Plokhii (Harvard University) about the crisis in Ukraine from a historical perspective. Over 25 conference panels took place on Saturday and Sunday with 100 panelists, including students, faculty and independent scholars, who came from across the Midwest region and abroad. Dr. George Kalbouss led Saturday's luncheon lecture, which detailed the importance of Slavic studies today. The conference also hosted a K-12 teacher workshop about the Holocaust in Hungary and the re-emergence of fascism in the twenty first century. We thank all those who came out to participate, attend and volunteer in the conference.
