CIBER Programs
The Center for International Business and Research (CIBER) at the Fisher College of Business offers Field Study Abroad Programs such as the popular Emerging Markets Field Study courses. With previous programs scheduled for Russia and Poland, these courses provide students interested in business a global perspective and an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in our region. 2009 Information Sessions

January 13
Ohio State Intensive Russian Language and Culture

This program at Tomsk State University is offered to students who have completed either Russian 103 (intermediate) or Russian 407 (advanced) prior to departure. This seven-week program includes a cultural tour of Moscow at the beginning of the program and several local excursions in Tomsk. Each student will live with a Russian family in Tomsk.

January 14
Poland Summer School in Social Sciences

This intensive training and research program examines post-communist Central and Eastern Europe in a comparative perspective. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, who will earn 15 credit hours and 10-15 credit hours, respectively, in Sociology, International Studies, or Political Science. This is a four-week program designed to give students research experience in a social sciences setting. In addition, excursions included in the program fee are trips to Lodz, Kazimierz, and a three-day trip to Krakow with a visit to Auschwitz as well. Courses are taught in English, and there is no foreign language pre-requisite.

January 15
Homeland Security and the Transatlantic Alliance

This spring quarter program  (June 14 - July 1) offers an opportunity for students to gain an in-depth understanding on responses in the United States and Europe to the threat of terrorism. The program will include meetings with federal and local government officials, non-governmental organizations, members of the media, and field trips to historically significant places in Washington, D.C., Amsterdam, and London. January 15
Russian Culture & Society (Moscow)

Short-term study abroad program offered in June 2009. Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and will take Russian 235 (Modern Russian Culture) during spring quarter 2009. Students will then travel with the course's instructor, Susan Vdovichenko, to Moscow and spend 12 days taking in such sites as the Kremlin, Lenin's Tomb, the Tretyakov Gallery, and Mosfilm.

Intensive Czech Language in Olomouc, Czech Republic

Learn Czech in Moravia! Palacky University, located in Olomouc, Czech Republic, sponsors the Summer School for Slavic Languages and offers Czech language instruction at levels ranging from beginner to advanced. This four-week program also offers regular film showings, history lectures, and excursions to other locations in Moravia as well as a weekend trip to Prague. All majors welcome to apply.
