Is Putin, like Alexander Pushkin, Russia’s “all”? Why and how has be become synonymous with the country that he heads? And what has led to his proclaimed status for several consecutive years as “the most powerful man in the world”? Examining Putin’s prolonged stint as Russia’s president, Goscilo analyzes his national and international stratagems, the motivations fueling them, and his fraught relationship with the West, especially the United States, ever and increasingly his bête noire.
