For the first two weeks of the Institute, Ohio State’s Conference Service will provide accommodations for all participants who wish to stay on campus. The air-conditioned residence halls with full housekeeping services are located on OSU’s South Campus, a short walk to Dulles Hall where most Institute activities will take place. Rates in the dormitories are currently $60/night for a single room, $30/night for a double room, and $24/night for a multiple. As the Institute approaches, we will be able to provide more information on the exact dormitory in which Summer Scholars will be staying. Examples of possible dormitory options can be found on the University Housing website.

Dorm rooms will not be available for our final week together, so we have made arrangements for Institute participants to stay at the award winning Hampton Inn at 501 N. High Street in the centrally located Short North district for the negotiated price of $119 per night. The hotel is situated less than two miles south of the OSU campus, adjacent to the North Market and a short walk from an array of the best restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities Columbus has to offer. The hotel features free wi-fi, a twenty-four hour business center, laundry facilities, fitness center, swimming pool, complimentary hot breakfast buffet and more. We will arrange for a shuttle service to transport all NEH Summer Scholars between the hotel and campus each morning and afternoon. Easy and affordable public transport is available for those who wish to arrive to campus earlier or stay later. We will endeavor to facilitate arrangements for those who wish to share a room.

For participants who opt to stay elsewhere, Experience Columbus, the Greater Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau's web site, provides up-to-date information on the hotels, motels, and many affordable bed-and-breakfast inns in the Columbus area as well as many restaurants and activities.
