Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Monetary Donations

When you make a gift to CSEEES, you join a community of individuals dedicated to supporting the study, knowledge and teaching of this region and its languages at The Ohio State University, in the state of Ohio, in the Midwest, and beyond. Funds are used to continue and strengthen Ohio State’s already strong tradition of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies: funding student professional development, travel and research in the region, a vibrant events calendar, outreach across the state of Ohio, K-14 teacher trainings available around the world, and support for students to study less-commonly taught languages, currently including Bosnian, Croatian, Modern Greek, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Uzbek and Yiddish. We invite you to consider supporting:

If you prefer to donate via check, please note the fund number and name from above and use Ohio State's fillable pledge form [pdf].

CSEEES is currently running a BuckeyeFunder donation campaign in honor of our 60th anniversary. Our goal is to receive 60 donations, one for each year of the Center’s history.

In-Kind Donations

What in-kind donations can CSEEES accept?

We are always accepting donations that help support our culture boxes. Culture boxes are a fun way to bring different cultures and history directly into the classroom and CSEEES has collected select realia (objects and material from everyday life that can be used as teaching aids) from Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Items include foreign currencies, toys, crafts, maps, posters, clothing items, and books to create mini culture boxes that can easily be shipped out to teachers across the United States.

If you would like to donate items to a culture box, please email CSEEES' outreach coordinator Alicia Baca (baca.31@osu.edu) to organize a donation pick-up/drop-off. Currently, we are seeking items for our Ukraine and Uzbekistan boxes.

What in-kind donations can CSEEES not accept?

Due to a lack of space, we cannot accept any sort of book donations. If you have books related to the region that you are looking to rehome, we would be happy to share a list of titles with our affiliates to see if they may be interested in them. Please send any book lists to cseees@osu.edu. Please note that we cannot guarantee that all books will find a new home.
