Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

CSEEES Excellence Award

CSEEES Excellence Award

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, any returning student registered in the MA in Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies who does not have a fellowship or associateship, remains in good standing with the graduate school and is making appropriate progress to the degree will be given a scholarship of at least $500 (depending on funds available) for the following semester if they meet the criteria of academic excellence. To receive the award, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.9 and have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher. Those enrolled in undergraduate courses in the relevant semester must not receive a grade lower than an A- in any of them.

This scholarship can be earned in the spring or autumn semesters starting in spring 2026. Students meeting the award criteria in spring may choose to have the funds applied to their student account in either the summer or fall term, and students earning it in fall will have them applied in the spring. Students must be enrolled at Ohio State during the term for which they choose to apply the funds.

Students please note: a student may not receive financial aid and other resources in excess of the annual cost of attendance at the university in accordance with federal guidelines. If you receive additional financial resources and/or assistance, it may impact your eligibility for other financial aid awards. If you have any questions about your individual situation, consult Buckeye Link at 614-292-0300 or by email at buckeyelink@osu.edu.
