Building on the spring workshop that covered the European Union (EU) and Poland, the second part of this teacher training workshop series will be led by Dr. Katalin Fabian (Lafayette College), and will further broaden the participants’ knowledge of the EU’s expansion into Central Europe and how new member states have integrated into the EU’s systems. This workshop will have a special focus on the case study of Hungary in terms of its emerging tensions with the EU. Dr. Fabian will focus her discussion in this workshop on the issues of migration, gender equality, and climate change in Hungary. This workshop is co-sponsored by the Center for Slavic and East European Studies at Ohio State and the Russian and East European Institute at Indiana University and is open to K-12 teachers in both Indiana and Ohio.
Lunch and parking passes will be provided to all workshop participants.
Participants who attend this workshop will also receive:
- $50 stipend for attending
- Opportunity to receive $50 for completing a related lesson plan by December 31, 2019
