The Center for Slavic and East European Studies (CSEES) is pleased to announce that Morgan Fox (MFA candidate, Department of English and Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in East European/Eurasian Studies student) will present the second of our 2021 Spring Semester Graduate Student Lectures. In this lecture Morgan will explore the integration of Slavic studies as an academic discipline into the creative process of writing fiction, with a special focus on the question of cultural representation from someone outside of the Slavic diaspora. Her lecture will cover three parts: a methodology analysis of creative approaches to material, a self-interrogation of American conceptions of Russia and Eastern Europe, and lastly a reading of a creative work.
