In this lecture Morgan will explore the integration of Slavic studies as an academic discipline into the creative process of writing fiction, with a special focus on the question of cultural representation from someone outside of the Slavic diaspora. Her lecture will cover three parts: a methodology analysis of creative approaches to material, a self-interrogation of American conceptions of Russia and Eastern Europe, and lastly a reading of a creative work.
