The Nonresidential Scholars Program for Ukraine, led by Indiana University and supported by the BTAA and partner universities, is pleased to announce the final research workshops for the 2025 program, featuring the scholarship of the new cohort of fellows. The first research workshops will take place on Tuesday, December 9, and on Thursday, December 11. Each workshop will last one hour, including a 30 minute presentation and 30 minutes Q&A.
During the December 11 session CSEEES' BTAA scholar Dr. Sofia Dyak (Center for Urban History, Lviv) will discuss her project, "From Different to Special: The Practice of Comparisons and Postwar Place-Making."

- 11:00 AM EST: “Holodomor Denial in the USSR and Modern Russia: Historical Parallels and Structural Specificities” with Dr. Andriy Kozytskyi (History, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv)
Thursday, December 11

- 11:00 AM EST: “African Students in Ukrainian Universities under Wartime: Is There Solidarity and Education for Everyone?” by Dr. Olga Filippova (Sociology/Anthropology, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, University of Eastern Finland)
As the Nonresidential Scholars Program for Ukraine 2025 comes to an end, you are invited you to join the organizers and scholars for 45 minutes after the final presentation on Thursday for a special social celebration and program wrap-up. It will be a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the collective achievements and celebrate the successful conclusion of this year’s program together.
