As a part of the Slovene Research Initiative, CSEES is proud to present a screening of the film Nightlife with an introduction and discussion by the translator for the film’s English language subtitles, Joseph Valencic of the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame.
Synopsis: One night, a high-profile criminal defense attorney is found unconscious, profusely bleeding, and covered in dog bites on a road through Ljubljana. While doctors fight to keep him alive, his wife breaks every moral standard she has stood up for in her life in order to hide this potential scandal.
Directed by Damjan Kozole in 2016, Nightlife is 82 minutes long, and is in Slovenian with English subtitles. The film screening and discussion is FREE. Please email csees@osu.edu to be added to the guest list.
