Core Fulbright Scholar Program

Core Fulbright Scholar Program awards provide opportunities for faculty as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others to teach, research, or conduct a combination of teaching and research. Awards are two- to 12-months in length, and flex options may be available to split up time abroad. Core Fulbright Scholar Program awards are administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE) and are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.

Core Program competition deadlines:
February 10, 2020: Catalog of awards is released
September 15, 2020: Deadline for most Core Fulbright Scholar Program awards
