The Slovene Research Initiative (SRI) of the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies requests proposals to conduct research in Ljubljana, Slovenia in late spring, summer or autumn 2026. Proposals are welcome from any discipline as long as the topic engages in research on Slovene, Central European, or Southeast European studies. SRI will cover housing in Ljubljana for two – four weeks. Please visit SRI's webpage for full information on the initiative and see the complete call for applications below. 

Applications are welcome from faculty and advanced graduate students at Ohio State and those who are members of the Society for Slovene Studies. Graduate students and recent PhDs are encouraged to propose four-week projects which allow for more in-depth research and/or collaboration with scholars in the host country. 

The deadline to apply is February 1, 2026. Selection results will be announced in late February 2026.
