The Office of International Affairs, in cooperation with the Division of Arts and Humanities of the College of Arts and Sciences, has appointed Dr. Joseph Brandesky as Associate Director of CSEES for 2013-2014.  In this important year for the future of the Slavic Center, as we prepare to once again apply for Title VI funds, this institutional support strengthens our competitiveness and shows OSU's commitment to Slavic studies. As a specialist in Russian and Czech theatre, Professor Brandesky has traveled to St. Petersburg, Moscow and Prague to study and conduct research in his field.  Brandesky has curated and co-curated seven Theatre Design exhibits and is currently serving as Guest Curator for a Strings Attached: Czech Puppets at the Columbus Museum of Art until August 4, 2013. He has organized 8 Study Tours to the Czech Republic and most recently took a group of Ohio State University students to Prague in May 2013, and in 2003 he received two awards, one for scholarship and one for teaching.  He was named the Martha W. Farmer Endowed Professor in Theatre at OSU Lima in July 2012.
