CSEEES Seeks Student Assistant

The Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) seeks a student assistant. This student will work alongside CSEEES staff to compile the monthly jobs list and create other communication products, assist with the planning and staffing of major events, research Center history and alumni, manage this data, and enter it into databases. The student will also work on cataloging and modernizing the CSEEES film library.
This position is primarily on-site, though occasional remote work is possible through mutual agreement if the candidate has access to reliable internet and an appropriate computer.
Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office and other standard computer programs, and be able to work together with faculty, staff and other students in a professional manner.
Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. The student may coordinate activities for other student employees/interns. This position requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment, and requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. The student must represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity while applying the Ohio State mission and shared values.
Preferred qualifications include web and/or graphic design skills, experience with writing for public audiences, communications, and demonstrated interest in the languages, cultures or peoples of Eastern Europe/Eurasia. Foreign language skills are an additional plus.
Training in the less common computer programs and databases necessary to complete specific tasks will be provided on the job.
This position is for students who have accepted their 2025-26 year Federal Work Study award only.
Compensation: $15.00/hour.
