As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Midwest Slavic Conference was cancelled in April. As part of the Midwest Slavic Conference, the Midwest Slavic Association usually announces and holds a regional undergraduate and graduate student essay competition. This year since regional affiliates of the Association of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) were unable to hold regional conferences, ASEEES will accept nominations directly from ASEEES Institutional Members to the ASEEES Graduate Student Essay Prize. CSEES is accepting nominations from currently enrolled Ohio State graduate students as an institutional member. Faculty may nominate a paper from a graduate student, or graduate students may submit themselves. Please visit ASEEES’ webpage for information on format restrictions. Papers must be received by June 1 and emailed to csees@osu.edu.
