In June 2016, The Ohio State University's East Asian Studies Center hosted a global teacher seminar on "Water Security for the 21st Century" in partnership with OSU's Department of Education, Center for African Studies, Center for Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies Center, and Center for Slavic and East European Studies. The week-long workshop was attended by Central Ohio high school teachers. CSEES contributed to the seminar by inviting and supporting OSU professor, Dr. W. Berry Lyon, as a guest lecturer to the workshop, where he presented on "Water Use and Sustainability in Eastern Europe."
