Take a Journey Through Ukraine in CSEEES' Newest Online Learning Module
The Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) at The Ohio State University partnered with Ohio State graduate students to create an online module to introduce K-14 educators and their students to the language, culture and history of Ukraine.
A Journey Through Ukraine was created by Mykyta Tyshchenko and Michelle Verbitskaya (PhD students in the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures). This guided curriculum module highlights the rich diversity and unity of the country by exploring its languages, geographic and cultural regions, history, and cultural heritage. By examining both historical and contemporary perspectives, students will gain insight into how Ukraine’s past has shaped and continues to shape its present. The module aims to illustrate how Ukrainians integrate their history, cultural legacy, and traditions into their everyday lives, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of this vibrant nation.
These modules are part of a series of modules that CSEEES has funded through a U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center grant to CSEEES. Each module is meant to be a self-contained unit of instruction that K-14 students, K-14 teachers, undergraduate students, or other instructors can use either to educate themselves or to integrate into a unit that they are teaching. Stay tuned for information on other modules that will be coming later this fall!
