Undergraduate Russian Olympiada Results

On Saturday, February 25 the MidWest regional Russian Language Olympiada was hosted by Bowling Green State University. Over 50 students participated from Bowling Green State University, the College of Wooster, Kent State University, Oberlin College, Ohio State University, Ohio University, and Wayne State University. The competition consisted of three sections, a poem recital, an oral interview, and topic presentation. Students competed in five categories, levels one through four of Russian language study, and a separate category for heritage speakers. From Ohio State University, six students participated: Jeffrey Hooper, Matthew Duncan, Sarah Hassan, Thomas Yenichek, Sarah Ovchinnikoff, and Rowan Croswell. We thank you for your hard work! Rowan Croswell took second place in the third year category, and Matthew Duncan placed first in the fourth year category. Congratulations!
