Promoting Russian, East European, and Eurasian Scholarship
As part of its mission to promote the knowledge and study of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia in Ohio and nationally, the Center for Slavic and East European Studies (CSEES) organizes and supports a variety of conferences, workshops, and symposia to promote area studies scholarship. This includes the Midwest Slavic Conference, held each spring on The Ohio State University campus, which is the largest regional Slavic area studies conference in the United States. In addition to this annual conference, CSEES works with other departments on campus and outside organizations to support and organize a variety of other conferences.
