Together the faculty and staff at the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies at The Ohio State University and the College of Wooster condemn the Russian war in Ukraine. As administrators and educators who have family, friends, and professional connections in Ukraine, Russia, the U.S., and beyond we remain appalled by the continued aggression. We grieve for the victims of the ongoing violence and stand with all those in Ukraine and those beyond who oppose this war. In accordance with our mission - to educate Ohio students, faculty, and staff about the cultures, languages, and countries of Eastern Europe and Eurasia - we will devote part of the 2024 Olympiada to education about the status of the Russian language in Ukraine.
All undergraduate students of Russian in Ohio are invited to participate in the 2024 Ohio Undergraduate Olympiada of Spoken Russian. Hosted by the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) and the Russian faculty at the College of Wooster, the 2024 competition is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 25 on the College of Wooster campus.
Registration for the 2024 Undergraduate Olympiada is now open! Students who wish to participate must register no later than Wednesday, February 21.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact CSEEES’ outreach coordinator, Alicia Baca, at baca.31@osu.edu.
Co-sponsored by the College of Wooster and the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies.
