Please join the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) and the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) for an informal "brown bag" discussion of careers in the international education field. Ohio State alumni and staff will share their career trajectories and open the floor to questions and discussion from other attendees. Feel free to bring your lunch to enjoy while we chat.

Panelists:

Graham Hettlinger As Managing Director of Higher Education Programs at American Councils for International Education, Graham Hettlinger oversees more than 25 programs for the intensive, overseas study of less commonly taught languages and the international exchange of scholars and students. He began his work in international education as resident director of The Ohio State University - Tufts University Moscow program in 1997. Prior to his current role, Graham served as Associate Director of Summer Overseas Programs at Georgetown University and as Director of Education Abroad at the University of Maryland, College Park. He completed a B.A. in Political Science at Oberlin College, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Virginia, and an M.A. in Slavic Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University. He has published four volumes of translation from Russian, including Collected Stories of Ivan Bunin and Maksim Gorky’s Childhood.

Emily Salopeck is the Global Business Operations Senior Analyst at CIBER within Fisher College of Business. She manages the U.S. Department of Education CIBER grant, overseeing 46 global initiatives to promote international business education and research and enhance U.S. business competitiveness in the global marketplace. She ensures compliance with grant regulations, leads outreach and recruitment efforts, coordinates budgets, and manages marketing and communications. With a Master of Education in College Student Personnel from Ohio University and a background in Public Relations and Communications from The University of Akron, Emily is passionate about fostering cross-cultural understanding and promoting inclusivity through impactful international education programs. Emily's commitment to international education drives her to create impactful programs that bridge cultural gaps and prepare individuals for success in a globalized world.
