This lecture series began in spring 2022 in order to help OSU students, faculty, staff, and the general public better understand the war in Ukraine and Ukrainian heritage, history, and culture. Please check our event page for a full listing of all events. Presenter: Sasha Maslov is a Ukrainian-American portrait photographer and storyteller based in New York City. His work has been exhibited in various photo galleries and art spaces around Europe and the United States. Sasha is a regular contributor to a number of magazines and leading publications in New York and around the globe, and he is actively pursuing work on his documentary projects. Abstract: Covering any conflict is a difficult and dangerous task, but reporting on a war in your own country brings another level of emotional and psychological toll. However, for many Ukrainian photographers and journalists, the war brought a sense of responsibility to document and tell the stories of the atrocities unfolding in their own country. This conversation will cover the experience of Ukrainian photographer Sasha Maslov who has been working on covering the various aspects of the war in Ukraine.  If you have any questions about accessibility or wish to request accommodations, please contact us at cseees@osu.edu. Typically, a two weeks' notice will allow us to provide access. Zoom Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies cseees@osu.edu America/New_York public
