Two graduate students from The Ohio State University will lead a roundtable discussion at Lakeland Community College about the current refugee crisis in Europe. Sanja Kadric is a doctoral candidate in the History Department at OSU. Her research focuses on Islamic History in the Balkans, women's, gender and sexuality history, and modern European history. During the roundtable she will speak about the history of Muslims and non-Muslims in the Balkans, and she will also tell about her personal experience as a refugee. Carolyn Morgan is a doctoral candidate in comparative politics and political psychology at OSU. Her research examines the effects of anti-immigration hostility and xenophobia on marginalized populations in Western Europe. At the roundtable discussion she will speak about Turkish communities in Germany.
