Vinyl Generation: Generation X in Czech Alternative Culture is a 2016 documentary that explores a story of art, revolution, and vinyl. In 1980s Communist Czechoslovakia an emerging generation took inspiration from alternative culture to create their own worldview, politics and eventually, a revolution. 25 years later, this unique generational perspective is explored for the first time. The documentary has been screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, San Francisco Docs, Colours of Ostrava, and EuroBeats (Washington DC). Directed by Keith Jones, the film also includes two time Academy Award winner Barbara Kopple as Executive Producer and Gary Griffin (Best Cinematography Sundance 2005) as Director of Photography. The documentary includes noteworthy clips of Lou Reed’s first concert in Prague (1990), Frank Zappa’s (1991), and Lou Reed at President Vaclav’s private concert (2009).
