The Nationality & Heritage Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh is a nearly 100 year-old program that serves to educate the public about the ethnic settlement history and identities of Pittsburgh. They are functional classrooms that were devised and funded by local committees and continue to show guests and the Pitt community via their architecture and decorative contents the value of ethnocultural diversity. This virtual tour will focus on the Romanian, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Yugoslav, Czechoslovakian, Armenian, and Turkish Nationality Rooms through video, still images and live narration. The tour will be guided by is Michael Walter, the Nationality Rooms Tour Coordinator.
