Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Collins (Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures) on being named an inaugural College of Arts and Sciences Student Wellbeing Advocate.

This award recognizes individuals and/or student organizations affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences who go above and beyond to create a culture that values student wellbeing and/or student mental health. This award celebrates excellent advocates for student wellbeing. Individuals and organizations receiving this award excel at promoting and prioritizing student wellbeing in their classrooms, departmental communities, and/or university work. The award seeks to illuminate forces for good in the college, particularly those who foster an environment where students’ wellbeing can thrive.

Professor Christa Teston, who wrote for the award committee, commended Collins in this way:

"I want to personally thank you for the behind-the-scenes labor you do to help fill the (many) gaps that exist in our college as it concerns student wellbeing. Your advocacy work is vital and, as you know, too often goes unacknowledged. We hope this small gesture conveys our deep appreciation and affirms that we see you—and we see the many ways you support our students."

Thank you, Dr. Collins, for your dedication to our students. You have made a difference to generations of CSEEES alumni!
