CSEEES Successfully Concludes Second Annual Buckeye Funder Campaign
On August 25th, the first day of classes, CSEEES wrapped up its Buckeye Funder campaign to raise $6,000 to support students through the CSEEES Excellence Award in the absence of Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships. This goal was not just met but exceeded with $11,310 raised that CSEEES can use to support students and programming in the future. In particular, this allows us to offer a CSEEES Excellence Award of $1,000 for the next two semesters, as well as continue to offer professional development grants and on-campus programming for students.
These donors came from 23 U.S. states and 2 other countries, showing the reach of our community. Donors included Ohio State staff and faculty, alumni of the MA and Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship programs, colleagues from other institutions, and friends and family. With their donations, many left touching tributes to mentors and colleagues, congratulated their students, and fondly remembered their time at Ohio State.
One contributor wrote: "CSEEES played such a pivotal role in my personal growth and professional development. Happy to give back to the community that gave so much to me!"
Another shared "Such a significant, vital effort by CSEEES at this time of compelling need for a new generation of students trained in these challenging, beautiful, and important (in so many respects!) languages."
Thanks to all the donors for their support and generosity!
If you had planned to donate to the campaign and it slipped your mind, don't worry! Donations are gratefully accepted at any time through Ohio State's online giving site (Fund number 313858).
