The Center for Slavic and East European Studies has been selected by the Department of Education to receive Comprehensive National Resource Center and Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship grants for Russia/Eastern Europe from 2018-22 in the amount of $2,398,000. The Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship grant ($1,398,000) will support graduate, professional, and undergraduate students who are studying an East European or Eurasian language as part of their course of study for a degree from OSU. As a Comprehensive National Resource Center ($1,000,000), CSEES will support language courses at OSU, organize and co-sponsor academic events, provide teacher training programs and resources for secondary school teachers, work with community groups, colleges and universities, and other organizations throughout the state, and increase collaborations with community colleges and minority serving institutions.

These fellowships and programs will support the work of numerous OSU students and faculty, K-12 teachers, as well as faculty at other institutions. The funding makes possible the important work we do to advance and disseminate knowledge of the Russia, East European, and Eurasian region.
