Funding Available to Community College and Minority-Serving Institution Faculty to Attend Conference

Text: International CRE Summit 2016, June 8-13, 2016

The Center for Slavic and East European Studies (CSEES) seeks to fund faculty at community colleges and minority-serving institutions to develop or redesign courses, programs, and workshops that contain significant content about Eastern Europe and Eurasia to increase students’ knowledge of these regions of the world through funding it has received from the International and Foreign Language Education division within the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI of the Higher Education Act. CSEES will provide up to $1,000 to a faculty member at a community college or minority-serving institution to attend the 2016 International Conference on Conflict Resolution Education and use the material from the conference and connections made there to develop or redesign a course, program, or workshop at their home institution. The demonstrable result of this work should be the implementation of the proposed course or program that enrolls and/or engages students at the home institution and learning about Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Interested faculty should visit our Higher Education Outreach information for full details.
