Prepare for Your Next Academic Workshop with CSEEES' First Graduate Student's Guide

The Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) is proud to share the first resource in our new Graduate Student’s Guide—resources made by graduate students for graduate students. Each guide will offer an in-depth introduction to a different aspect of graduate life, providing practical advice and firsthand insights to help students navigate their academic journey.

Our inaugural guide, The Graduate Student’s Guide to Academic Workshops, was developed by Siobhán Seigne (Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures) and Devon Rancourt (Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies). Drawing on their recent experience at the Other Europes: (Hi)stories from the Edges of the Old Continent workshop in May, Seigne and Rancourt created a resource that covers everything from preparing for a workshop to making the most of the experience while you're there.

The guide is available in multiple formats—you can listen to the podcast episode, watch the video on YouTube, or read the full transcript, all available on the Graduate Student’s Guide website.

This project was made possible through funding from a U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center grant to CSEEES at The Ohio State University. Stay tuned—more guides are on the way!
