The Ohio State University's ScarletCanvas and CSEEES are pleased to announce the availability of an asynchronous, self-paced introductory language and culture course for Romanian. Romanian on the Ground was developed in conjunction with SEELC faculty members Andrei Cretu and Adela Lechintan-Siefer, the instructional design team at Ohio State’s Office of Distance Education and the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures and was funded in part by CSEEES's U.S. Department of Education Title VI grant.

Romanian on the Ground is an asynchronous, self-paced introductory language and culture course, expected to take approximately 25 hours to complete. Through a variety of interactive videos, presentations, and activities, you will learn skills that will help you to engage with people from and navigate situations in the areas where Romanian is spoken. Throughout this course, you will learn and apply essential expressions and vocabulary of the target language to real-world situations, developing your reading, listening, and speaking skills along the way. You will also have the opportunity to grow your understanding and awareness of cultural differences and similarities between Romania and the United States, as you explore topics of cultural importance within each module.

To view further details or sign up for the course, visit Romanian on the Ground’s page in ScarletCanvas’ online course catalog. Courses for Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian and Polish are also available through ScarletCanvas.
