The Serbian Educational Alliance has kicked off a virtual lecture series highlighting the work of Ohio State political scientists. The first lecture took place on January 27, 2021 with Ralph D. Mershon Professor of International Security, Dr. Alexander Wendt.

Dr. Wendt presented his new research, “Quantum Theory as Critical Theory: Entanglement, Alienation, and the Politics of Social Physics” to over 200 Serbian students via Zoom. Following the lecture, he hosted a thought-provoking discussion about quantum physics and quantum thinking in relation to social sciences. More images from the lecture can be found on the University of Belgrade’s website . Dr. Wendt’s lecture was the first of several lectures the Serbian Educational Alliance will be hosting this spring.

The Serbian Educational Alliance (SEA) began in January 2020 and connects The Ohio State University and the University of Belgrade in an academic partnership focused on research, scholarly exchange, and strengthening the existing ties between Ohio and Serbia. This partnership is primarily composed of OSU’s Center for Slavic and Eastern European Studies and University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Political Science and Centre for Studies of the United States of America.

The SEA funds research collaborations, educational experiences, guest lectures, and faculty trips between OSU and University of Belgrade. Continue to check our website and newsletter for future SEA updates.
