Every year since 2008, The Ohio State Summer School in Social Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, a university-sponsored study abroad program, invites Ohio State students to the Polish Academy of Sciences to conduct original research on social change in Central and Eastern Europe. This “Warsaw Summer School” is organized by the Cross-National Studies: Interdisciplinary Research and Training (CONSIRT) program, a collaboration of faculty and graduate students at Ohio State’s Departments of Sociology and Political Science and the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology and the Graduate School for Social Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFiS PAN and GSSR PAN, respectively).
The director of CONSIRT is Kazimierz M. Slomczynski, professor emeritus, sociology. CONSIRT guides students through the grant application process.
