It was with mixed feelings that CSEES announced the departure of Derek Peterson, outreach coordinator, in August. Derek served as outreach coordinator at CSEES for a year, overseeing the organization of the Midwest Slavic Conference, the K-12 workshop, outreach presentations at local schools and work with community colleges. During his time at the center, Derek was a tireless worker and excellent colleague. However, while Derek has left the center we are proud to congratulate him on his new position at the university, working as the academic program coordinator in the Department of Slavic and East European Language and Cultures.
