The Polish Studies Initiative (PSI) is pleased to announce its winners of the 2015 PSI Grant and Scholarship Competition. The PSI Grant winners are Professors of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures Angela Brintlinger and Helena Goscilo and Theatre Lecturer Karen Mozingo.
Dr. Brintlinger will visit the University of Warsaw in May 2015 and will serve as a visiting scholar and teacher during her 10 day residency in Poland.
Dr. Goscilo will visit the Lodz Film School Library, one of the oldest film schools in the world, in Poland, to conduct further research on popular film magazines.
Dr. Mozingo plans to conduct archival research and interviews for a critical biography of Jewish Dancer, Pola Niresnka.
The PSI scholarship winners are history PhD student Nikki Freeman; Center for Slavic and East European Studies MA Student, Karolina Chimchenko; and undergraduate student Nathan Lackey.
Ms. Freeman plans to spend a week intensively researching at the POLIN Museum in Warsaw.
Ms. Chimchenko will attend a six week intensive Polish Language course at Jagiellonian University, as well as take courses at the university.
Mr. Lackey will participate in the Global May Hungary program.
