The Center for Slavic and East European Studies awarded Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships for summer 2015 to the following three students:
Rebecca Bostock-Holtzman will be studying advanced Russian at the University of Pittsburgh’s Summer Language Institute. Rebecca is a graduate student in the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures.
Megan Kupka will be studying advanced Russian at Saint Petersburg State University. Megan is an undergraduate student majoring in Russian and international studies.
Taylor Reynolds will be studying advanced Russian in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Taylor is a graduate student in the Center for Slavic and East European Studies.
The summer FLAS fellowship provides funding for graduate and undergraduate students to complete an intensive language program domestically or internationally. Fellows complete the equivalent of one year of language coursework. The FLAS fellowship is made possible through funding from the International and Foreign Language Education division of the Department of Education.
