CSEEES Welcomes 2024-25 MA Cohort

On Friday, August 16 CSEEES welcomed five new students to its M.A. in Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies, as well as returning students Luke Bendick and Liam Martin. This year, Luke Bendick will serve as CSEEES' Graduate Student Representative and will act as a liaison between the Center staff and its students. We are excited to have the following students join our program:
- Quinn Cline-Cook completed a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science with a minor in Animal Science and a B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Russian, both obtained at Ohio State. They plan to continue their language studies in Russian and to pursue studies in bioethics and international public health in this program.
- Margot Hare received her B.A. in Russian, Linguistics, and Computer & Information Science from Ohio State and plans to pursue a career in the intelligence community after graduation.
- Sarah Hohman also received a B.A. in Russian from The Ohio State University. After graduation, she plans to work coordinating study abroad programs between Eastern Europe and the United States.
- Devon Rancourt holds a B.A. in Slavic Studies and History from Connecticut College, where she also completed the Holleran Center's Program in Community Action.
- Sascha Rohde received his B.A. in Russian from Carleton College. There, he began to translate a Soviet soldier's war diary in the summer of 2020 and first became interested in the translation of historical documents, as well as WWII's cultural legacy in Eastern Europe.
This year's cohort will go on to study Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian as well as area studies coursework. Additionally, all of our students were recipients of either Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships, Graduate Access Fellowships, or University Fellowships for academic year 2024-25.
Join us in welcoming our new and returning students!
